Rate Limits
Overview
The BitGo REST API enforces rate limits on requests to restrict the number of requests that you can make in a time window. When a request exceeds the limit, the API returns an HTTP 429 response.
Default Rate Limits
BitGo enables the following default rate limits. However, you can request higher rate limits by contacting support@bitgo.com.
Know Your Business (KYB) rate limits apply to your whole organization. Each KYB endpoint has its own limit. All KYB requests also count toward one shared limit of 200 requests per minute.
Note
A single BitGo Express call may initiate multiple API requests. For example, calling the Send transaction endpoint results in 4–5 API requests. Because the authenticated user limit is 360 API requests per minute, the effective rate limit for Send transaction is approximately 70–90 calls per minute.
