Trading Overview

Overview

Integrating the Liquidity Kit creates a trading account for your enterprise, giving you access to trading. Trading aggregates liquidity to provide best price execution. BitGo automatically settles trade orders on weekdays at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Prime trades occur from your trading wallet - an omnibus, custodial cold wallet. From your trading wallet, you can buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies. Unlike other BitGo wallets, trading wallets are multi coin, and even include fiat USD. To view all currently available trading pairs, see Trading Reference.

For example, if you fund a trading account with $20,000 USD and place market orders for $7,000 in BTC and $3,000 in ETH, the wallet would settle with:

  • $10,000 USD
  • $7,000 of BTC
  • $3,000 of ETH

Note: Assets in your trading wallet use a unique ticker symbol. Most simply by append ofc to them, indicating that they're off chain. For example, the ticker symbol for testnet bitcoin in your trading wallet is ofctbtc. For a complete list of trading ticker symbols, see Trading Reference

Additionally, you can integrate the Trade WebSocket API to receive real-time updates for orders, order books, and trades.
